I'm trying to move Thunderbird from my Windows 10 laptop to one where I just installed Linux (Zorin Pro 17.3). I followed the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer

I installed Thunderbird 140.4.0 esr, which is the latest version. Both laptops now have that version installed.

But when I open TB on the Linux computer, and close the Account Setup window, and go to the Troubleshooting screen, next to "Profile Directory" it says "Open Directory", but when I click on that, nothing happens. So how can I paste my TB profile? Do I have to start a new profile first, and then copy over that?

I installed TB from the "Software" area, which I believe is a Flatpak. I'm very new to Linux, so just fumbling around here. There were 3 options of Thunderbird. I installed the one that had the most information and seemed most up to date. That was confusing.

I would LOVE some help on this.

I run aPC with Win 7 (64 bit) and use TB 115.18.0 (64 bit) Supernova (esr) I have all my contacts in a folder on the HDD (data drive). However, I cannot find where TB stores its "contacts" folder. Nor how to import my contacts from the windows folder. I have tried to download a "contacts sidebar" from TB, but my ver. of TB is "not suitable" " " " " create a "contacts" folder to replace the "Starred" folder etc. (failed) and even created a "contacts" folder in the "Local Folders"(succeeded). However when I tried to drag and drop the files from windows toTB, it failed.

There must be a simple way to to import contacts. 

Can somebody help please.

since last TB-Flatpak-Update, I can't start TB and I get the error report below. The problem exist on three different PC with Fedora. TB doesn't run in safe-mode. TB installation from RPM works.

(115.18.0 (64-bit); POP3) Cannot delete folders from app or profile & "About Profiles" shows the wrong profile. This started when I simply attempted to rename a folder in Thunderbird, and emails disappeared *remain in old folder. QUESTION: Can I safely simply set the correct profile as the default (lojbsrwp.default)? ISSUES: -Troubleshooting information shows incorrect profile Roaming/Thunderbird/ (no files since 2017); Settings shows path to correct profile. -Two Profiles showing in /Thunderbird; one appears current. -Profile show folders that do not appear in Thunderbird -Folders w/numbers at the end of file name keep duplicating when I delete, but don't disappear from either -Thunderbird & Profile. Can't delete multiple, duplicated folders. Folders with end-numbers don't match between Thunderbird and Profile. -Troubleshooting information/About profiles/Current: Root Directory & Local Directory show incorrect profile. -Troubleshooting information/About profiles/DefalutOLD: Root Directory & Local Directory shows current profile in use.

I was trying to delete many hundreds of old emails and highlighted many that were unread at a time. (Shift, select emails and shift on the last one). They highlighted in blue. When I clicked on "delete," the blue highlight turned gray and nothing happened. Now I can't even go back in and delete them one at a time.

Is there a limit to the number of emails I can delete in one group? How can I delete the ones that are now gray (instead of bold black showing unread)?

I hope this makes sense. Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Account missing from unified folders after restart

Hi Thunderbird community,

I have an issue with unified folders where one specific IMAP account keeps disappearing from the "Sent" and "Drafts" folder (this does not happen in any other unified folders that I have added the account to). The strange thing is that when I right click any of the unified folders it keeps disappearing from, go to their properties and click "Choose" both "Sent" and "Drafts" folders are already in there and when I click "Update" the account disappears from the unified folders panel and is properly integrated like it should be. It's quite annoying because I need to do this every time I restart the program.

In the attached screenshot you can see that the "Sent" folder is selected to be a part of the unified "Send" folder, but it instead shows up separate until I click the "Update" button in the unified folder's properties. Same applies to "Drafts".

Sadly I couldn't find anything on the internet so far, so I'm wondering is someone else has an issue like this an possibly knows a solution.

iCloud email seemed to be working for a while, but a few days ago it no longer showed me iCloud mail, but instead, keeps popping up a TB request to sign in to iCloud: https://p46-contacts.icloud.com is requesting your username and password.' I don't really use iCloud mail, so I removed it completely from Accounts in TB, yet this message keeps coming up. If I supply the correct info, it still will come up after 5 minutes or so. I have four accounts in Thunderbird. One of them has been inactive for a long time, but I keep it for old messages. I disabled automatic account checking in the configuration and everything was fine. I recently updated my system to Fedora 41 and now have the newer Thunderbird 140.3.0esr. The problem is that now, immediately after startup and then about every 15 minutes, a Google API login window pops up, as shown in the picture. How can I effectively block this?

I had a problem with an account so Login to SMTP was failing. At this time all dialog boxes were too small to read or even see the text impute area for the password. This was a newly (re)created account inTB. It worked fine to download but would not send. [I eventually solved/worked around this by using a different login name.] However the UI problem is probably still there to be a problem for others. The first "Sending message" box was too small, about 1/4 the normal size I expect, but could be resized if you were quick enough. The Error message and Password Entry boxes would be overlaid and both too small to read content or see the buttons or text entry fields. They could not be resized.

Hello! Thunderbird has updated to version 144. All folders on the IMAP server have been renamed to their default values. Now, when I go to a folder's properties, I can't change its name. The input field is now read-only. Everything was fine before the update.
